After the sudden loss of my mum’s husband and our step-father Andy, our family was overwhelmed with grief, unsure where to begin, and desperately trying to organise a funeral that felt right for him. From the very first email, Mark Rind was the reassurance we needed. He was sincere, caring, incredibly understanding, and guided us gently through every step with true professionalism and compassion.
Mark was recommended to us by another celebrant who wasn’t available, and we are so grateful he was. Even though we contacted him late at night just a week before the funeral, Mark replied promptly and immediately put us at ease. He offered his sincere condolences and reassured us that everything would be okay, and not to worry about the funeral arrangements. From the very first moment we felt like we were in safe hands and didn’t have to worry about the funeral. Everything felt under control. He handled all communication with the crematorium, guided and organised the content of the funeral service, timings, music, imagery, and ensured everything ran smoothly on the day. Mark truly helped create the ceremony for Andy, us and his family and friends.
Despite being based near Bordeaux, Mark was able to travel all the way to Cannes, Côte d'Azur to help us when we couldn’t find a local funeral celebrant who was available, responsive or felt like the right fit. From our first video call, it was clear Mark was the person we could trust. He asked all the right questions with sensitivity, compassion, and professionalism, helping us share memories and moments that he later used to craft a beautifully personalised and heartfelt ceremony. He captured Andy’s character perfectly - his humour, his achievements, his kindness - and delivered a service that brought both tears and smiles. Everyone who attended commented on what a lovely man Mark is and how fitting and touching the ceremony was.
Mark’s communication was flawless: emails, WhatsApp, follow-up calls - he was always available and nothing was ever too much trouble. He sent us a full bespoke ceremony script to review and encouraged edits to ensure it truly reflected Andy. He even managed our music choices and kept everything running calmly and on time with the crematorium so our family could focus on remembering Andy, not on logistics.
Mark’s professionalism, empathy, and dedication were outstanding. He offered thoughtful ideas and solutions to help create a unique and personal ceremony, and he handled every sensitive detail with genuine care. Knowing Mark was overseeing everything gave us peace of mind during one of the hardest moments of our lives.
We cannot thank Mark enough for everything he did for our family. He delivered a beautiful and deeply meaningful ceremony for Andy, and we will always be grateful. We only wish we could have met him under different circumstances… he would have made a wonderful celebrant for happier occasions too.

At a very difficult time following the death of my husband and feeling overwhelmed by everything that needed to be organised for the funeral, I came away from our first chat with Mark with such a feeling of relief that it was all going to be okay. I cannot recommend Mark highly enough. I was persuaded it would be better to use Mark's services as a Celebrant. Best decision I ever made. He visited me at home and spoke a length about my husband and his life and Mark took everything in hand and liaised with the Funeral directors. Mark visited us at home and his natural warmth and kindness made us feel like we were talking to a friend and his reassurances left us feeling like a weight had been lifted from our shoulders.
